How TMS support AmeyBriggs

TMSSS support the AmeyBriggs MITER Contract through a range of tasks that include assistance to the definition and selection of support strategies at acquisition for new to MOD service specialist engineering plant equipment to the through life management and maintenance of the technical documentation Army Equipment Support Publications (AESPs) for these equipment types. The range of equipment types exceeds 70 and covers both road going and non-road going, wheeled and track based from a range of UK and overseas manufacturers.

TMSSS liaise with both the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and the MOD to ensure that the AESPs reflect the real-world experience of the operators and maintainers with accurate up to date detail on procedures and part numbers for safe equipment maintenance. The management and maintenance of this technical documentation includes amendments/technical changes for the MOD’s documentation repository and also the provision of a secure web based technical documentation portal hosted by TMSSS to enable AmeyBriggs engineers to access equipment information wherever they are located.

TMSSS also assist AmeyBriggs with the maintenance of the MITER contract ILS Plans, the MITER Service Provision Document, new equipment ILS work (including technical documentation, safety case support, spares codification and new documentation specification validation) and support to the ILSM and senior staff.

How PDM support AmeyBriggs

PDM is proud to be a Strategic Partner of AmeyBriggs and to support them in the provision of the MITER Service.  They do so by delivering training for the Modified Off The Shelf (MOTS) element of the MITER equipment fleet, as well as providing Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) compliant Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and Course Design services in support of the MITER Asset Replacement Programme (ARP).  These activities help ensure that operators and maintainers of MOTS assets are suitably qualified and skilled and are able to retain their currency and competency throughout the life of the MITER Service contract.

AACE

AACE Ltd (AACE) was established in 1997 as a family consultancy business to provide technical support for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD). Over the 25 years since, AACE has provided extensive support in the areas of integrated logistics support, airworthiness, system safety, environmental protection, technical publications and technical

consultancy. In the early years, the focus was on the air domain and that aerospace heritage remains at the core of AACE. However, in recent years, AACE has expanded greatly into the maritime and land domains both directly supporting the MOD and its supply chain providing technical support to the QE Class aircraft carriers; air systems such as Protector and the P-8 Poseidon; weapon systems; and a myriad of land systems from quad bikes to 50 tonne cranes.

The majority of AACE’s people are ex-Armed Forces or have worked in Defence and come with tremendous levels of operational, acquisition, support and project

How AACE support AmeyBriggs

AACE has supported AmeyBriggs in the delivery of Project MITER since the Spring of 2021 providing safety and environmental support to enable them to meet their commitments to the MOD for its suite of mechanical handling and plant vehicles and equipment. AACE has produced safety and environmental plans, an overarching safety and environmental case report, environmental cases and safety cases, and associated artefacts covering all 68 types of vehicles, equipment and ancillaries provided under Project MITER. This has been supplemented by a flexible approach to providing technical support and documentation for a range of related activities and outputs required to provide AmeyBriggs with a high quality, agile and cost-effective service.
